(Updated 18/9/2015) Iceland's Journal: Demo 0.5

Description

Note: This update isn't too different from the first demo, except for the addition of new scripts, CGI and character busts. However, do note that existing save files will not be compatible with the update due to the new scripts. Additionally, this update does not come with the RPG Maker RunTimePackage attached, so you will be required to download it if you have not already done so.

:icondenmarklaplz:

I have finally done it.

The first demo for my first HetaGame Iceland's Journal is finally ready for distribution! Sorry if it's not very fancy and all but I'm just an amateur, ehehe. It's an extremely short demo because I have no good idea where to cut it off so uh... yeah.

Here's a brief summary of the storyline:

"A mysterious, blank book appears in Iceland's bedroom one morning, with instructions to write a story within it. He does, and it ends up actually happening in real life, though he doesn't think much of it. He goes on to write more short stories and doesn't notice them coming true one by one. The stories slowly get increasingly bigger, wilder and darker-- that is, until he can finally realise that he is the reason behind all these strange coincidences. It's only a matter of when he can figure it out before someone gets hurt... permanently."

Eeyup, obviously this is going to be Nordic-Five-centred. Actually... so far it's exclusively the Nordic Five in this game so if you're expecting anyone else other than the Nordics to appear I'm sorry ^^; Still not sure what genre it is, though. It only becomes darker in the back parts, where people start getting hurt. But since there are no deaths or injuries involved in the demo thus far, it's more or less okay for everyone. :meow:

Just a few tips for gameplay:
:bulletblue: Whenever you're asked to search for an item LITERALLY CHECK EVERYWHERE, even if there isn't anything indicating that there's something for you to find. There will be vague hints given in the game ("It's upstairs/downstairs/outside etc) but you have to find the items yourself. Be especially wary of anything that gives you a dialogue box which isn't directly related to the current 'story'; they tend to become extremely important the moment the next 'story' comes on.

:bulletblue: Save often. I can't guarantee that you won't run into any glitches throughout the demo. In between 'stories' and at certain points, you will be allowed to save your game.

:bulletblue: Check your player's equipment. All five Nordics are playable at various points of the demo (yes that means Sweden is playable for the first time in forever) and some of their equipment is going to change along with the 'story'. (I apologise in advance for Finland's inventory; I truly lack creativity in the Finnish sense) If you're not checking for missing inventory, just check out their equipment for a few laughs-- they're there for a reason.

:bulletblue: Watch out for Easter eggs. Some of them are character-specific; in other words, they'll change according to which Nordic you're playing as. Although most of them are rather meaningless, some of them might become important information in later parts of the game (which may or may not be in the demo).

:bulletblue: The written 'stories' can be found in your inventory, in case you want to refer back to them. The first one is pretty stupid though-- just forgive me for that one. I lack creativity.
